About
As a licensed social worker, I see my role as that of a guide and witness: Guide, to help clients discover new pathways in their lives, and witness, to stand by and pay tribute to my clients’ stories, strengths, and struggles. Each individual presents a vast and beautiful world to be gently explored and uncovered, and I feel humbled and privileged to do so alongside my clients. In my practice, I draw from IFS, DBT, and CBT, and other evidence-based treatments to contextualize clients’ past experiences and formulate a comprehensive care plan.
Through my social work practice, I have learned that the best way for me to help those who seek my service is by being true to myself and presenting the client with the resources I have to offer, which include compassion, curiosity, and humility. By demonstrating these skills, I create an environment in which both the client and I feel secure.
While my clients have a variety of presenting issues, for the most part, they all have similar needs and wants: they wish to feel free, more confident, more secure, and more whole. Some want to be better partners, parents, and leaders, and some want to let go of old self-defeating patterns that are holding them back.
