About
The ideal client for me are the women who recently became aware that they have been the victim of narcissistic abuse.
These clients have suffered years of gaslighting and emotional abuse. They come to therapy sad, confused, scared and angry. They are usually caught between the undeniable facts and the fantasy of who they thought their partner was.
Initially, these clients are not sure what they need or want as they are unable to identify and express either. Many of these women are codependent so their needs and wants are whatever their partner’s are.
Initially, clients needs to be educated about Narcissistic Personality disorder (NPD) and narcissistic abuse. The goal is to assist the client with processing the grief of the relationship and the narcissistic abuse while also helping her become the strong, independent woman she wants to be.
At the end of initial sessions I provide clients with my contact information. I explain that I have clients who text me throughout the day using me as a journal or a sounding board as they text me when they need to vent or share something funny or exciting.
I encourage them to reach out especially in the phases of treatment as that tends to be the hardest.
