About
I believe providing the safest of spaces within the therapeutic alliance for clients to self-actualize (as they themselves define what self-actualization means) is a sacred privilege, and this foundational belief powers my practice as a clinician. I provide an eclectic, strengths-based, person-in-environment service delivery approach. In other words, the theoretical frameworks, modalities and interventions I utilize are always specific to the client’s needs, their intersectionality, their personal goals for treatment; only then can I effectively assist in empowering the client to overcome their presenting and primary challenges in the shortest amount of time. I serve children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, all in the spirit of teamwork, cultural humility, and perceiving the client as the world’s expert on themselves. Through my social work practice, I have learned that the best way for me to help those who seek my service is by being true to myself and presenting the client with the resources I have to offer, which include compassion, curiosity, and humility. By demonstrating these skills, I create an environment in which both the client and I feel secure.
While my clients have a variety of presenting issues, for the most part, they all have similar needs and wants: they wish to feel free, more confident, more secure, and more whole. Some want to be better partners, parents, and leaders, and some want to let go of old self-defeating patterns that are holding them back.
