Medication Management

Medication Management
Psychotherapy is used to help eliminate or lessen symptoms a patient is experiencing that are affecting their daily lives. This type of talk therapy is used to help a variety of emotional and mental difficulties. Psychotherapy is frequently paired with medications for effective treatment.
The initial consultation is a conversation about the benefits and risks involved in taking the medication(s.) The physician will also strongly consider the possible side effects of the medication(s) being discussed, as they sometimes may be disruptive to the patients’ daily life.
The last information taken into consideration before any medication(s) are prescribed are the patients’ medical history, any other medications or supplements the patient is taking.
When the patient sees his/her doctor, he/she will be able to monitor that the patient is taking his/her medications as prescribed. This is essential because if the patient misses doses, the medication will not work appropriately.
